This is one of those rare books that finds it way to your reading list to wake your love of reading from the murky waters. You can love or hate this style of writing. Two tales twined together over centuries to find and heal each other. This is such a story.

One set in the past, the late 1700's, London. The people, the being, the little shops. You can feel the lives wrap around you and be pulled towards you. An apothecary for women and their trails and their terror. Cures or not, the character development is rich and you can feel their lives as you read. Their hurt and their pain. What a confusing time, yet the second part of this is set in current day London. Just couldn't be told if it were not for the passion of a woman determined to heal her own hurt by discovering the past that was not connected to her yet became part of her. Our present day trials take us on a ride that discovers history, but not the history in things, the history in people, of people.
The settings are deep and rich yet not overwhelming to the reader. Its enough detail to believe you are the one discovering the lost past. That is a rare talent these days.
Some will find this a dull read and yet others, like myself with be glued to the page, needing to know what happens next. This is a book I will recommend to anyone that connects with a lost past, history, and small moments.

This book was purchased on Amazon Kindle by L.S.Diamond / Fabled Fox & Quill and the book review is and biased and completely my own.
