Grub Season: A Love Story by Coleman Walker ~ A Book Review

Updated: 1 day ago

This book was generously gifted to me by the author to read and provide a book review... and... I am so glad he reached out. This book is an unexpected surprise in a world of superficial stories.

Grub Season: A Love Story by Coleman Walker

Reading this book is like reading a secret. It reads like a journal and you're getting all the juicy details. Grub Season: A Love Story is about real life and falling in love. The human connection is real in this book, it's tangible and unapologetic. It's not a very long book but every word you read holds its own weight in the book.

Don't think for a second this is a book about two people alone. Grub Season is an intertwined love affair with food, menus and restaurants. The experience of a food or taste and the memory of the main characters is very relatable to most of us. Ever smell something that brings you to happy place? A sweet treat or a pie baking or how about Christmas cookies? Where is your memory going, a loved one, shared time or experiences? That's this book.

Not only do you share the authors intimate journal of his love story, but your spoiled with food to try and ideas. This book made me hungry with every page turn. It was s a great read with a snack and a cup of tea.
